Two Hungry Hedgehogs

We just did a Forest Animals storytime and I had my Five Little Foxes felt set, Five Little Hedgehogs but I wanted 2 little hedgehogs, of course!  Meet Morris and Marie! I love them.  I used a couple of Google images to make my cuties.  They were a big hit!

One named Morris and the other is Marie.
Sniff away Morris, sniff away Marie.
Come back Morris, come back Marie.

They're eating up the grubs, Morris and Marie!

Where is Bear Sleeping? Revisited!

So...I made a set of caves for a pellon bear HEREWe are planning a Bear storytime soon but I couldn't find my original set! What to do??  Yeah, losing a set is a good excuse to remake it and tweak it to be bigger and 'better' this time. LOL!  I made my caves to be about 5 by 6 inches and decided to have another animal behind each cave until at last, we find the bear.  I Googled images of cute hibernating/sleeping animals and then laminated and cut them out.  Here's some rhymes to use with the this set.

Little Forest Animals

This post originally went with my camping theme but you could use it with MANY themes. I use my Beanie Baby animals but I also have clipart pictures of the animals.  This is a riddle/rhyme I made up a couple of years ago when our summer theme was Dig Into Reading. It turned out to be a lot of fun and there is a lot of learning/thinking going on too! Here's the link for the rhyme: Little Forest Animals. You could easily add more forest animals to guess; an owl, or beaver, or deer...This theme would be a great time to use my Hedgehog flannel set too! Forest Animals are so much Fun with Friends at Storytime!

Hedgehog Love!

As I was browsing through the Flannel Friday Pinterest boards, I came across Miss Angie's adorable hedgehog post at Miss Andre's Library blog.  What a happy coincidence that she's hosting the roundup this week!!    I loved the sweet little rhyme she had composed to go with her cute little hedgehogs. Here is my version of the hedgehogs from a Google clipart that I found and deconstructed for the pattern. I cut the spikey part(?!) separately and the head, feet and body as one piece. The ear and nose are separate pieces too. The eyes are black slick fabric paint.  I'm in love with them!!
