Dental Health Fun!!

We had such fun this week doing a Dental Health theme for storytime. We had this great book and as we read the book we would add the felt piece that corresponded to the silly stuff she found in her teeth.  I had all of the pieces except the mouth already in my many felt sets.  The mouth was an easy make with some different patterns on the WEBS. lol. This was an effective and fun way to use pieces that I haven't used in years and keep the kiddos very engaged!  I also have a few other teeth related items that we did HERE and HERE.  We had a easy craft and table activity also! It was a BIG hit this week with our young patrons.  Dental Health is important and Fun with Friends at Storytime.

Two Hungry Hedgehogs

We just did a Forest Animals storytime and I had my Five Little Foxes felt set, Five Little Hedgehogs but I wanted 2 little hedgehogs, of course!  Meet Morris and Marie! I love them.  I used a couple of Google images to make my cuties.  They were a big hit!

Here's my Two Little Bats in time for Halloween Fun!  I do have another post that include bats HERE! These are super easy and lot's of Fun with Friends at Storytime!

Mushrooms in the Rain

 

I have a new set of fingerpuppets to go with this adorable theme of mushrooms.  I already have a fun set HERE, but I can't leave anything alone lol.

                   They stand in the rain and never complain!

We have 2 adorable books to use and we'll sing When I'm Feeling Up and play with the parachute! Mushrooms are so much Fun with Friends at Storytime!

                           

  

Let's Make Some Guacamole!

 

So we're prepping for Hispanic Heritage month coming soon and I wanted a felt set for Storytime so of course I thought of guacamole! Here's my rhyme, Let's Make Some Guacamole!  I had made the lemonade pieces a few months ago and never used them and thought they'd be perfect with my guac!  I used some Google images to make some patterns but free handed the tomato and chips. I used glitter glue to make my segments on the lime and slick paint for the salt and pepper shakers.  I made up a rhyme and we're ready for Fun with Friends at Storytime!

Two Little Zebras

 

A new set of 2 little fingerpuppets!  Here is Zoe and Zane. They like to gallop on the African plain. I found a cute Google image to deconstruct for a pattern and used some hot glue and slick paint and here they are! Zebras are so much Fun with Friends at Storytime!

Berry Picking Time

 

Time to pick some berries!! 

Picked a Berry 

to the tune of Darling Clementine

Picked a strawberry, picked a strawberry that was growing in the sun.

Then I washed it, and I ate it. and I picked another one.

Change out blueberry, blackberry, raspberry and cherry as you pick them and pretend to eat them!

Here's another rhyme to use with the berries also.

Down in the Market

Down in the market at the end of the street, there are 5 ripe berries, so juicy and sweet.

Along comes a shopper with a nickel to pay. She buys the cherry and takes it away!

4...raspberry; 3...strawberry; 2...blueberry; 1...blackberry.

This theme resonated with the kiddos. They all like berries and around here it's strawberry picking time and the blueberries will soon be ready. We also played 'Which one is missing?' with the berries. That's always a big hit! This is one of my favorite themes for Storytime! Check out my other posts about berries Here and Here.
